The St Mary's Open Day - Saturday 6th September 2008

Starts at 10.45pm until 4pmFree entry to all to come and enjoy our historical church.  This event is organised by The Friends of Bletchingley Parish Church.

The Friends of Bletchingley Parish are hosting an Open Day in the Church and grounds on 6 September. The main attractions are two performances, one at 11 am and the other at 2 pm, of a Pageant which brings to life the 1000 year history of St Mary's and the people it has known. All the players are from the village or nearby.

Between the performances there will be other happenings, including a tour of the church and church yard, an opportunity to have a go at hand- bell ringing and a quiz for children. There will be an exhibition of the contribution ‘The Friends' has made to the Church.

Refreshments will be served in the grounds from 12 noon onwards.

The aim of the Open Day is to raise awareness in the people of Bletchingley of the historical significance of St Mary's and to recruit more ‘Friends'

The Friends hope that many people from the village who do not regularly worship at St Mary's will come with friends and family to make this a truly community village event. There is no charge other than for refreshments.

Please help to make this a very successful event.
