NSPCC Garden Evening

June 15, 2008

The Tuesday before was overcast with heavy rain and the outlook looked uncertain for the annual Garden Evening at Brewerstreet Farm the following day.   However, on Wednesday evening, the sun shone and the crowds arrived in greater numbers than ever before.

On behalf of the NSPCC Committee, Mrs Sasha French expressed her thanks to all those who generously contributed so much for the various stalls.   From Sue and Chris Hickson's home baked bread, to the always popular cake stall, plants, designer clothes, white elephant items, tombola and raffle, a host of games and stalls for children, four ponies to give pony rides, refreshments and barbecue, there was something for everyone.

The result of so much hard work and enthusiasm was an incredible £7,700 for the NSPCC and all the committee members would like to thank the many supporters who enabled this sum to be raised.
