Introduction of Buses to Bletchingley

The introduction of buses was recorded in 1878:

“On and after Monday the 28th instant Mr Stafford of Ladbroke Road Redhill will run daily, Sunday’s excepted, a pair horse omnibus from that town to the Plough Inn, Bletchingley. The times of starting, as at present decided upon, are from Bletchingley at 8:45 and 11.20am and 6.00pm. The fare will be one shilling each journey”
