Covid-19 restrictions are eased

On Wednesday, the government announced changes to Covid-19 restrictions. This means:

  • You are no longer asked to work from home. Talk to your employers to agree arrangements to return to your workplace.
  • Staff and pupils in secondary schools and colleges do not need to wear a face covering in classrooms.

From Thursday 27 January, you will not be required to wear a face covering and you’ll no longer need to show your NHS Covid-19 pass at venues and events by law.

Government advice is to continue to:

  • Get vaccinated and get your booster, visit the NHS Covid-19 vaccination webpage for more information at www.nhs.uk.
  • Wear a face covering in most indoor public places and on public transport where you may come into contact with people you do not normally meet.
  • Let fresh air indoors.
  • Keep testing and self-isolate if required. For the current self-isolation advice, please visit Gov.uk.
