Comments invited about planning application for new transit Gypsy, Roma and Traveller site in Bletchingley

Surrey County Council is inviting views about the planning application for a new Gypsy, Roma and Traveller transit site in the Tandridge district.

The application has been submitted and can be viewed on Surrey County Council’s website (ref 2021/0170). Comments can be made until 20 December. The proposal is to create ten short term stay accommodation pitches on land adjacent to the permanent Gypsy, Roma and Traveller site at Pendell Camp, Merstham Road in the Tandridge district.

Tandridge District Council is being consulted about the application and details can also be found using the planning search on our website – reference TA/2021/1983.

Surrey County Council has been working closely with Surrey Police, the Office of the Police and Crime Commissioner and district and borough councils to meet Gypsy, Roma and Traveller needs and to reduce the impact of unauthorised encampments across the county.

More information about the consultation which was carried out earlier this year can be found at www.surreysays.co.uk/iai/pendell-camp-merstham-road-proposal.
