High-friction surfacing on the junction of Sandy Lane, Pendell Road and Big Common Road.

SURREY COUNTY COUNCIL PROPOSE TO MAKE roadworks with the effect of prohibiting vehicles from entering or proceeding in that length of:-

a) Pendell Road (C69), Bletchingley that extends from its junction with Sandy Lane (D389) and Big Common Road (D389), north-west for a distance of 100m; and

b) Little Common Road (C69), Bletchingley that extends from its junction with Sandy Lane (D389) and Big Common Road (D389), south-east for a distance of 100m.

This Traffic Order is required to enable the safe construction of high-friction surfacing highway and/or resurfacing/maintenance works on behalf of Surrey County Council. These works are anticipated to be carried out between the hours of 8pm and 6am, within 5 nights and are currently planned for the 16th to the 21st of September. Advanced warning signs will be displayed and the temporary closure will only operate when the relevant traffic signs are displayed. Access for emergency services, pedestrians; dismounted cyclists and equestrians will be maintained at all times.

Access for residences and businesses will be maintained via the vehicular diversion which will be Pendell Road, Bletchingley Road, Nutfield Marsh Road, Church Hill, Bletchingley Road and Castle Street. Any vehicle found to be obstructing the highway during these works will be removed to a suitable location outside the limits of the works after all reasonable methods have been undertaken to identify and contact the vehicle’s owner.
