Bletchingley Branch, Royal British Legion update

The branch made about £200 towards the national Poppy Appeal at the Village Fair this year. Thanks to all who supported the stalls.

The local branch will be represented at a Service of Reflection for the 75th Anniversary of the Battle for Arnhem, at Leatherhead Crematorium on Sunday 22 September. Any RBL members out there, or ex-Service personnel and families with ties to the battle, who would like to attend, should get in touch.

The Annual General Meeting of the local RBL branch will be held in the Village on Tuesday 5 November at 2000hrs (that’s 8 o’clock in the evening to civvies!).

All current members are encouraged to attend. Apologies appreciated.

There are places available for the Festivals of Remembrance at the Royal Albert Hall on 10 November if anyone has an interest. Always moving, and poignant but always entertaining, there are afternoon and evening services.

Any ex-Service personnel, and/or their families, who are interested in joining the RBL should contact their local membership secretary ( Bob Downie 01883 742910)

Lest they forget.
