Take up Bellringing for Fitness!

St. Mary’s has one of the finest rings of 10 bells in Surrey. We would really welcome some new people to join the band to help keep the bells ringing for services, weddings, celebrations and many other events.

Ringing is a rewarding pasttime that can be enjoyed and shared with all members of the family. What’s more they are the perfect way to get gentle physical (and mental) eervise with increased active living for those who are looking for alternatives to conventional sports.

What’s even better is that bell ringing is open to everyone – young and old – and with any level of existing fitness. Professional trainers and health experts now recommend bellringing to:

  • Improve agility, co-ordination and reaction times.
  • Tone core abdominal muscles and glutes.
  • Work biceps, quads and calves with minimal force.
  • Develop muscle endurance.
  • Help concentration and mental fitness.
